South Somerset District Council has been selected to work in partnership with Connected Places Catapult, following its commission from the Government, to assess how rural areas can be better connected with towns and cities.
The project seeks to research what communities would like to see in terms of transport provision, look at the demands on our transport network and assess whether the costs of transport are creating a barrier to accessibility and mobility.
This research will help determine what new services could be provided in the future to help our communities be better connected.
The next decade will see a dramatic period of innovation in transport. There will be winners and losers but voices from our communities will help shape the future.
We are seeking volunteers who are willing to be involved in a transport-based focus group that will take place on Monday 13 July with Connected Places Catapult.
