Dear Resident,
In July the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey (OPCC) successfully bid for £547,000 from the Government’s Safer Streets Fund to make physical improvements to reduce crimes such as burglary, and to enhance the feeling of safety where you live.
We would like to get your views on how safe you feel in your area and hear any ideas you may have for improving security or well being in your community.
Work is set to begin this month on the Northlands Estate and in Dutch Barn Close, in partnership with Surrey Police, A2Dominion housing association, Spelthorne Borough Council and AST. The OPCC and Spelthorne Borough Council have pledged additional funds in order to benefit the wider Stanwell Community as part of this exciting project.
We’ve ordered 1,000 SelectaDNA property marking kits for Stanwell residents. These kits forensically mark various types of property to reduce theft and burglaries, and assist in the recovery of stolen property. When used by Greater Manchester Police, SelectaDNA kits helped cut burglary by 83%. A similar operation by Cheshire Police achieved the lowest burglary rate in 25 years by using SelectaDNA.
We would be grateful if you could take 5 minutes out of your time to complete the survey and to register your interest to receive a free SelectaDNA kit.
The closing date for responses is Monday, 7th December.
Thank you,
The Safer Streets team
