The new Standard was launched in 2018 and museums are now getting invitations to make their Accreditation returns. Find out what’s changed and what you’ll need to do to meet the new Standard. Sarah Brown from Collections Trust will outline how Spectrum 5.0 can help you meet the collections management requirements and Kate Hebditch, SEMDP Accreditation Adviser will explain the new requirements on forward plans, governance and constitutions. We’ll look at the ‘Users and their experiences’ changes and what policies and plans you’ll need for access and audiences. We’ll also take a look at the new online application system. Please bring your existing forward plan, documentation plan and procedures manual. There will be some ‘surgeries’ for those wishing to discuss particular issues with Kate or Sarah. Please request a surgery when you book.

This session is relevant to trustees, staff or volunteers who are responsible for completing the museum’s Accreditation return.

To ensure fair distribution, only one representative from each museum can book a place on this training course. Additional bookings from the same museum will go on to a reserve list. Places on this training course will be confirmed by email.
That you are either a paid staff, a volunteer or a trustee who works within or with a South East museum or heritage organisation which is in Arts Council England’s Accreditation Scheme (either fully accredited or working towards accreditation). Where this is not applicable (i.e. you are a non-accredited museum), you acknowledge that in the event that training is oversubscribed, priority will be given to museums or heritage organisations in the Arts Council England Accreditation Scheme.
It is a condition of receiving the training provided without charge that the evaluation form is completed by the specified deadline in the email notification, unless a paper evaluation is specifically provided on the day of the training session for completion before the end of the session.
The South East Museum Development programme is publicly funded. Should you cancel your booking without sufficient notice (48 hours), South East Museum Development reserves the right to charge you or your organisation a late cancellation fee of £15.
