Making Clatworthy Drive Safer

1. What is your full postcode, e.g. BS13 9BC.

We are asking this to understand if citizens have different views in different parts of the city.

If you are responding on behalf of a business or other organisation, please provide the postcode of the organisation’s premises in Bristol.

What we are proposing

Speed cushions

Three sets of (double) speed cushions would be installed at Clatworthy Drive – please see the proposed locations on the diagram below. These are a cost-effective way to reduce vehicle speeds and do not require a lot of drainage works. Their design allows cyclists to pass alongside and emergency vehicles to straddle them without needing to slow down.

Junction improvement at Clatworthy Drive / Fanshawe Road junction

In addition to installing speed cushions, we are proposing to extend the pavement into the road at the junction of Clatworthy Drive / Fanshawe Road and install a pedestrian crossing. The changes to this junction would improve road safety by slowing cars turning onto Fanshawe Road.
