Bus Open Data - Real Time Information Provision Survey

1. Introduction

As you are no doubt aware, the Bus Services Act 2017 contains provisions to require bus operators and/or local transport authorities to provide, in an open manner, real time information feeds for local bus services, with the aim of achieving 100% provision of real time information across England.

You are being asked to complete this survey, conducted by RTIG on behalf of the DfT, in order to clarify the current position regarding the provision of Real Time Open Data around the community.
This survey request is being sent to Local Authorities and Bus Operators, but we recognise that some respondents may be both. Please answer as many questions as you can; if you act both as an operator and as an LA, please complete the survey twice, once in each capacity.

Feel free to give us any additional information in the free text box at the end. Please be assured that all data will be held in strict confidence and all results will be aggregated to protect anonymity.
Please note: We have been asked by Bus Open Data delivery team at DfT to add three brief questions at the end for Bus Operators only. They would like to use your responses to contact and interview you about your answers. We will only pass on your data and contact details if you have given your explicit consent at that point in the survey. If at any point you change your mind about consent, you can contact us to withdraw it.

A downloadable version of the survey for review prior to completing online is available.

Please do contact us at surveys@rtig.org.uk if you have any questions.

The closing date for responses is Friday 23rd November 2018.

If you are not the right person please let us know so we can send them a copy of the survey so they can respond for your organisation.

Thank you so much for your time.
