Tourism, Retail & Business Survey

The Ilfracombe Marketing Group is a collaborative group run by Ilfracombe Town Council (ITC) and the Ilfracombe & District Tourism Association (IDTA). The group exists to ensure that Ilfracombe is promoted in a way which benefits everyone in the community whilst letting the world know about our wonderful town and what it has to offer our visitors.

Who is this survey for?

Any business or organisation that trades within or sells from Ilfracombe, that also has some (more than 25%) of its revenue generated by tourism activity. You could be selling to or catering for visitors (both day or overnight guests), or online customers that are outside of North Devon. Examples include visitor attractions, high street retailer, camp site, self-catering cottage, hotel & guest houses, pub, café, restaurant, take away, cinema.

If you are a non profit making or free venue then please also answer as best you can.

Also, any business that indirectly supplies or services customer facing businesses. Examples of this includes food wholesalers, brewery, laundry service firm, builders’ merchant or a locally based digital marketeer.

The aims of this short survey are threefold:

1. Designed to capture your current plans for trading.
2. Looking at your immediate plans (until the end of 2021) to trade.
3. Assess your ability or desire to trade a longer season.

All answers will be anonymised. Responses will be used by ITC and the IDTA to develop and prepare a strategy for rebuilding the towns economy post the Covid-19 pandemic.

Please only provide one response per business, trader or organisation. Where a comparison with past trading is required please use 2019 as the benchmark.
