Welcome to our Expression of Interest questionnaire for the Bright Green Homes Phase 2 project.

Bristol City Council’s Energy Service has funding available to improve the energy efficiency of your home through the Home Upgrade Grant Scheme. Whether you own your home, or you’re a landlord or tenant, we may be able to help!

Do you have an Electric, Oil, LPG, Wood or Coal fired heating system? Do you have a low Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Rating? If so, funding is available to homes with a G, F, E or D rating* with a gross combined annual household income of under £30,000. (please note: While EPC Rating D is eligible to receive funded measures, we are currently working through the lowest rated EPCs first and will review all D rated properties last. This is a requirement of our funder.

Funding is available to residents of Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES) and North Somerset; all works are intended to be delivered by the end of March 2023. Retrofit Assessments will take place first and this will determine what measures are required for your home. These measures include but are not limited to insulation, replacement doors and windows, renewable technologies and low carbon heating. The team will also help identify any other free and low-cost energy saving options for your home.

We ask everyone interested to complete this short questionnaire and one of the of the team will be in touch within 2-3 working days. We’ll ask you to complete some forms, provide income evidence and once they’re returned, we’ll begin our eligibility checks.

*Please still apply if your property doesn’t currently have an EPC. We can arrange for a pre-install EPC after checking you meet the financial eligibility criteria of the Home Upgrade Grant

You can contact the team at with any questions. If you feel you may not meet the criteria above but are interested in improving your homes efficiency, please do get in touch as we may be able to advise of other energy saving projects and schemes available to you.

The information provided within this questionnaire will be shared with the Department of Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) in line with the Data Protection Act 2004 and Article 6 of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). A copy of the privacy notice can be found here
