Audition and Chorus Sign-Up for Guys & Dolls (Wetherby Musical Theatre Group)
We're very excited for our show Guys & Dolls, the first musical we ever performed in 1975, 50 years ago this year!!! Excitingly, we'll be performing it 'in the round' at The Engine Shed in Wetherby.
Please use this form to provide details about yourself in order to register your intent to audition, and to be in the show. Please provide us with as much detail as possible.
As per our audition principles:
- Anyone who wants to audition can do so.
- You don't need to audition to be in the chorus, but we still need to know who is going to be involved, so please fill in the form. Chorus members' roles may vary and could be given singing lines, dance, acting parts.
Auditions are:
- Sunday 30 March, 2pm - 5pm
- Sunday 6 April, 2pm - 5pm (this includes any callbacks)
Auditions will take place at Deighton Gates Primary School in Wetherby (LS22 7XL).
If you're unsure about something or want to ask a question, please don't hesitate to get in touch on wetherbymtg@yahoo.co.uk. We're an open and welcoming group, and would love to hear from you.
If you'd like to meet us before committing to audition, you can come along to our Guys & Dolls Launch Night on Tuesday 11 March, from 7:30pm. You'll be able to meet the Directors, the group, find out more about the audition process, as well as have a sing and move to a song from the show!

1. Please tell us a bit about yourself
Please note that the lowest age we will consider is 14 years old (at time of performance). For anyone aged between 14-17, we are taking expressions of interest for the chorus but cannot guarantee they will be in the production. We will be in touch with anyone between those ages to have a chat. *
2. Please tell us about any previous experience you have had in theatre / musical theatre.
Please tell us about previous roles or shows you have been involved with.
We'd also like to know if you are happy with movement / dance / choreography.
Don't worry if you haven't had much / any experience, anyone can still audition, this just gives us an idea of stuff you've done before, but it isn't used to determine whether you can audition / what part you may get.

We intend to cast the show as stated below, however we will consider swapping genders of characters if necessary.
All auditionees will have some lines to read. Some Principal roles require a singing audition, as below. You will receive your audition materials following completion of this form (not immediately, but not long after).
