1. This survey is being undertaken as part of the review of effectiveness of Senate. Separate surveys are being carried out of Senate members; of staff; and of students; the outcomes of the surveys will help the review group in its work. The survey has been designed in consultation with Students' Union representatives.
Senate is the highest academic decision-making body in the University. Its members are academic staff from across the University, covering all three campuses. It has responsibility for oversight of education and research within the University.
The surveys are anonymous – you do not have to give your name. The survey is being conducted by an independent consultant – Hugh Jones – who is part of the group undertaking the review. If you have any questions about the survey you can email Hugh on hugh@hughjonesconsulting.co.uk.
The survey is administered using SmartSurvey, which is based in the UK and meets the requirements of GDPR.
