About the survey

The Muslim Doctors Association together with The Grey Survey is conducting an in-depth survey to understand the experiences of Muslim healthcare workers in the NHS. In the process of doing the survey you will also learn about common biases and challenges faced by under represented groups in our glossary of terms.


Why is this important?

The information obtained will be used to form part of our policy response to unequal opportunities, discrimination and Islamophobia in the NHS. The answers will also be used to inform training and services to support Muslim healthcare workers in the NHS to help them thrive and address organisational challenges preventing them from reaching their full potential.

Who can participate?

You can take part if: you are over 18 years old identify as Muslim are a healthcare professional currently work in the NHS or have previously worked in the NHS and can answer the questions drawing on your NHS experience.

Healthcare staff include medical, nursing and midwifery, ambulance staff and allied health care professionals (scientific, therapeutical and technical).


What happens next?

You will be asked a series of questions about your background, experiences at work, questions on well-being and coping and what changes you would like to see in the NHS to better support Muslim healthcare workers in the NHS. The survey will take approximately 15-20 minutes. There are comments box after most questions; if you are to provide any descriptions or explanations this would be much appreciated.

You do not need to answer all the questions and you do not need to complete in one go.You can continue the survey from where you left provided **you access a unique link sent to your email address (this can be used from the same or different device as well) ** All the information provided is confidential and only anonymised data will be used for the purposes of research and analysis. If you do provide your email address at the end, this will only be used to contact you with the results of the survey.
