We would like to invite you to take part in our study. Before you decide we would like you to understand why the research is being done and what it would involve for you. What is the purpose of the study?
This study is aiming to investigate the difference of higher education between China and the UK from cultural, economic and political perspectives

Who is doing this research and why?
This project is a final year project by Yongen Lyu, a international financial and political relations student at Loughborough University, researching the difference of higher education between China and the UK. This study is part of a Student research project supported by Loughborough University. 

What will I be asked to do?
You will be asked to complete a questionnaire which I estimate will take you less than 4 minutes. Please answer all the questions in the questionnaire. There are no other commitments or lifestyle restrictions associated with participating. 
Once I take part, can I change my mind?

After you have read this information and asked any questions you may have if you are happy to participate, I will ask you to complete an Informed Consent Form. However, if at any time, before, during or after the sessions you wish to withdraw from the study please just contact the main investigator.  You can withdraw at any time, for any reason and you will not be asked to explain your reasons for withdrawing.
However, once the results of the dissertation have been submitted, it may not be possible to withdraw your individual data from the research.

Will I be asked to attend any sessions and where will these be?
No, there will not be sessions

How long will it take?

It takes less than 4 mins.

Are there any disadvantages or risks in participating?

Participating in this research is not anticipated to cause you any disadvantages or discomfort. The investigator will double confirm the participants do have enough time to get to the boarding gate before starting the questionnaire. 

Data Protection Privacy Notice

Loughborough University will be using information/data from you in order to undertake this study and will act as the data controller for this study. This means that the University is responsible for looking after your information and using it properly.

What personal information will be collected from me and how will it be used?

No personal information will be needed in this questionnaire.

What is the legal basis for processing my personal information?

Will my taking part in this study be kept confidential?
All the information that we collect about you during the course of the research will be kept strictly confidential. Any data collected about you in the online questionnaire will be stored online protected by passwords and other relevant security processes and technologies. All the collected data will be kept for 3 months after this project has finished. 

How will the anonymised data/results collected from me be used?

You should explicitly state how the results of the study will be used e.g. in reports, journal publications, conference papers.
