Location of the proposals

We are proposing changes to Petherbridge Way, Dovercourt Road and Constable Road, which are part of Concorde Way in Lockleaze. Concorde Way runs from the city centre to Cribbs Causeway through St Pauls, St Werburghs, Ashley Down, Lockleaze and Stoke Gifford. (Figure 1)

A map that shows the route Concorde Way takes from the city centre to Cribbs Causeway. The route is mostly off-road alongside the railway through Lockleaze, but is on-road along Petherbridge Way, Dovercourt Road and Constable Road.

About this survey

In this consultation, we ask for your views on the following proposals:

  • A traffic filter (a location with road narrowing and bollards) to prevent through traffic on Dovercourt Road
  • Raised crossing points on Petherbridge Way and Dovercourt Road
  • Shared-use footways and double yellow lines on Constable Road and Petherbridge Way
  • New zebra crossing and speed cushions on Constable Road

We also ask for your views on planting trees along Dovercourt Road, which would reduce the amount of on-road parking spaces.

We do not have proposals for specific locations for trees, and we would need to carry out detailed surveys of underground services (such as gas, electricity, water, telecommunications) first to confirm what is possible. If it is not possible to plant trees at a location, other types of plants may still be possible. At this stage, we just want to know if you support the principle of more trees. Properties with driveways would not have trees planted in front of them.

We also ask some questions about you as part of equality monitoring. All questions are optional and we do not ask anything that would identify any individual.

At the end of the survey, you will be directed automatically after a few seconds to a separate form where we ask if you would like a tree outside your property. The separate form is for residents who live on Dovercourt Road only.

We are asking about this in a separate form to make sure we cannot connect information you give about your address with the anonymous answers to the questions on equalities in this first survey.
