We are inviting expressions of interest from colleagues working across the Bradford District and Craven health and care system for the NHS England Enhancing Generalist Skills (enhance) programme, starting on 25th September 2025. (Watch our recent webinar)
This free NHS England programme is open to all clinical and non-clinical colleagues working within the health and care system across Bradford District and Craven. This includes colleagues of any grade and profession, working in primary care, secondary care, community, social care, local authority or the voluntary sector.
The programme has 6 core modules (population health; complex multi-morbidity; person-centred practice; social justice and health equity; system working; and environmental sustainability) and 4 cross-cutting themes (wellbeing; leadership; digital; and transformative reflection).
There are two ‘tiers’ which applicants may choose to apply for:
- Tier 1 (enhance ‘enable’): Self-directed learning programme with a time commitment of 8 hours per module (48 hours for all 6 modules). This can be completed at the participant's chosen pace, with the option to engage in optional elements (face-to-face induction, module webinars and end-of-programme celebration event).
- Tier 2 (enhance ‘explore’): Immersive programme with a time commitment of 4 hours per week for 8 weeks per module (total 12-months for all 6 modules). This includes face-to-face delivered sessions, webinars, field trips, self-directed learning and regular meetings with a sponsor.
Please note, if you are applying for Tier 2, your application will need to be supported by your line manager/supervisor to ensure that you will be able to engage in all aspects of the programme. This form requests a short supportive statement from your line manager/supervisor.
You are also able to apply for the programme on a standalone module(s) or entire programme basis. You can find more detail on what each individual module will cover here. Each module will be delivered over an 8-week period and indicative timings are below:
- Population Health (September 2025 - November 2025)
- Complex Multi-Morbidity (November 2025 - January 2026)
- Person-Centred Practice (January 2026 - March 2026)
- Social Justice & Health Equity (March 2026 - May 2026)
- System Working (May 2026 - July 2026)
- Environmental Sustainability (July 2026 - September 2026)
The deadline for completing this form to express interest in undertaking the entire programme or the Population Health module (as a standalone module) is 15th August 2025. Applications for future modules will close 1 month before they are due to be delivered.
