Welcome to the Local Place Plan Survey

A Local Place Plan is a community-led initiative that provides an opportunity for people connected to communities to shape the future of our area. By contributing to this plan, you help highlight what matters most to our community, from preserving cherished spaces to addressing local needs and aspirations.

Local Place Plans offer several key benefits for communities, such as:

Empowering Local Voices: They allow residents to take an active role in shaping their community's future, ensuring that decisions reflect local priorities and values.

Influencing Decision-Makers: A well-crafted Local Place Plan can guide councils and other organisations, helping them better understand and address the community's needs when making planning decisions.
Strengthening Community Identity: By bringing people together to share their ideas and aspirations, the process fosters a stronger sense of community and belonging.

Enhancing Quality of Life: Focused on improving spaces and services, Local Place Plans aim to make the area safer, greener, and more enjoyable for everyone.

Promoting Sustainability: They often encourage sustainable development practices, balancing growth with environmental preservation.

Stepps and District Community Council are currently collecting information from people that live, work and travel through our community to develop our Local Place Plan. We need your views to help us to do this.

This survey is your chance to share your ideas, priorities, and vision for our community. Your input will play a vital role in creating a plan that truly reflects our collective goals and values. Together, we can build a roadmap that guides positive change and ensures our community continues to thrive. North Lanarkshire council are legally required to take the content of Local Place Plans into consideration when making planning decisions so it's vital we take this opportunity.

The community council boundary covers a wide area, including Stepps, Steppshill, Cardowan, Craigendmuir, Crowwood Grange, Coshneuk, Millerston and Frankfield Loch.

You don't have to answer all the questions but the more information you give us the better our Local Place Plan, and the more you can influence and protect the future of the community and the green spaces that surround it.

This survey will remain open until 31st May 2025

Thank you for taking part and making your voice heard!
