Hello and thank you for taking part in The Great Gong Bath Survey :)

- All of the questions are optional.
- This platform is GDPR compliant, you data is encrypted, stored securely and destroyed after 6 months.
This survey is being carried out a practical exercise for part of an assignment I am doing for my Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling at CPPD Counselling School. The survey is on the topic of the therapeutic effects of gongs, and how they might work within psychotherapy. Different sound healing instruments work in different ways, so to make the research clearer it focuses on the effects of gongs specifically (whilst there may be other instruments playing within the session).
While there is no single agreed explanation for how gongs work, this research begins with the understanding that many people report real and meaningful effects. The aim is not to prove a mechanism, but to explore what those effects are and how they might relate to therapeutic practice.
So this survey focusses on why people go to gong baths. What are their psychological, spiritual and emotional experiences and perspectives, the positive or negative outcomes, what makes a 'good' gong bath and so on. The answers will help shed light on how gongs might work in psychotherapy and for which issues they might be suitable for.
