It is time for Desborough's celebration of all things 1940s.  Station Road will be closed as usual to allow people to move safely amongst the various stalls and attractions.

We welcome period vehicles and people in period costume but Allies only - no representations of Axis powers will be allowed on site.

Are you interested in applying for a pitch at the event (charity or commercial)?

Local community organisations, charities, and small businesses should apply for a pitch (£15).  If you would like a trade pitch (e.g. children's rides, food and drink, entertainment/amusements etc.) please note that the fee will be higher.

Outline of Terms and conditions

No booking is confirmed unless the application form is submitted to the Town Clerk, the fee has been paid, and this has been confirmed formally by the Town Clerk.

The event features vehicles, uniforms, and memorabilia from the wartime "Allies".   Representations of the “Axis” powers in any way are not allowed and will not be accepted.

The event will take place predominantly on Station Road which will be closed to traffic in accordance with the Road Closure Order.

Pitches are on the road/path and are supplied without power or water. If electricity is required, please supply your own generator and follow the safety guidelines. The cost of a pitch (approx 3m by 3m) is dependant on what you are selling and will be confirmed on receipt of your application. As a guide, charitable organisations and local small businesses (non food) should expect to pay £15.  Commercial stalls will be about £50 to £75 depending on size of the pitch, and type of stall. 

Whilst we will make reasonable efforts to meet expectations of stall locations no position is guaranteed.

Stallholders must provides their own stalls, tables, bins, and gazebo / cover (if required however, a limited number of gazebos will be available for hire on a first come first served basis at an ADDITIONAL cost of £15).

Question 11.

Health and Safety

Food sellers must comply with food hygiene laws, and provide copies of relevant certificates, registrations, and have a star rating of 4 or 5.

No inflatable rides or attractions are permitted

Stallholders and their staff / volunteers must comply with any health and safety instructions issued in advance or at the event.

Any stallholders using gas must provide a copy of relevant Gas Safe certificates.

Any stallholders using portable electrical devices must supply copies of relevant PAT certificates.

Any stallholder may be asked to provide a copy of their written risk assessment in advance.

Ride operators must provide a copy of appropriate inspection certificates from ADIPS Ltd.

WASTE

All stalls, equipment, rubbish, stock, and vehicles must be cleared from the site by 6pm.  

You must provide recycling / rubbish bins or bags for customers to use, and you must take all rubbish relating to your activities away with you.

Access

The roads will be closed from about 09:00 but vehicles must be removed by 10:30 and your stall must be ready to trade by 11:00. No access will be allowed before 09:00 unless specifically authorised in advance and in writing by the Town Clerk.  

The event closes at 16:00 and vehicles will not be allowed back until after the official closure time unless otherwise authorised in advance by the Town Clerk.

Question 12.

Unacceptable

This event celebrates the 1940s in Desborough and we will not accept any display or representation of “Axis” powers of any kind.  

We also cannot accept: live animals or bouncy inflatables as part of any stall, entertainment, amusement, or display.  

We also cannot accept alcohol for sale unless specifically agreed by the Town Clerk in writing in advance and fully licensed.

Cancellation

Stallholders may cancel up until noon on Monday 7 September 2026, where a full refund will be issued. Cancellations after this date will not be eligible for a refund.

The Town Council will make every effort to ensure the event proceeds and is successful.  In circumstances beyond the control of the Council it might be necessary to change or cancel the event. Town Council will refund fees paid if the event is cancelled for whatever reason but no payment whatsoever will be made for loss of income, expenses incurred, or any other purpose.

The deadline for accepting bookings is Monday 7 September 2026. Please make sure your booking and payment are made prior to this date.
