Cybility Consulting, in partnership with Charity IT Leaders (CITL), is conducting the inaugural 'State of Cybersecurity in the Third Sector 2026' survey. Please allow 10-15 minutes to complete it; there is an option to save it and go back later. The closing date is Friday 18th September, 2026.
Why we are doing this
We want to understand how charities, housing associations, community organisations and other third-sector bodies approach cybersecurity, information governance and resilience.
The findings will help build a clearer, evidence-led picture of what is working, where organisations are getting stuck, and which risks and capability gaps deserve more attention across the sector. We will use this insight to produce practical guidance, tools and learning resources that help leaders move from concern to proportionate action; whatever their organisation’s size, budget or in-house technical capacity.
This is not about judging organisations or producing another report that sits on a virtual shelf. It is about identifying practical next steps the sector can use to improve resilience.
What you may receive
Participants will be able to access the published sector findings and accompanying practical guidance, including tips and resources designed to help organisations address the themes emerging from the survey.
You can choose to enter an optional prize draw as a thank you for your participation. Prize‑draw and follow‑up interview or case‑study contact details are collected separately from your survey responses at the end of this survey. More information is available in the Prize Draw and Incentives Terms and Conditions (opens in a new window). Choosing not to take part in either will not affect your ability to complete the survey.
How your data will be used
Your answers will be analysed and reported in aggregate to produce sector insights and practical learning resources. Please avoid including names, personal contact details, credentials, live vulnerabilities or beneficiary/client information in free‑text responses unless essential. Participation is voluntary.
