Tenants Voice Survey Panel sign up

1. Information on the project

We are creating a survey panel, made up of renters like you from across England to hear about your experiences of private renting. We’ll use these powerful stories to speak up for change.

Why should I get involved?
  1. Help strengthen the voices of private renters in the housing debate
  2. Be a part of trying to create change in the private rented sector and improve rights for tenants.
  3. You will receive a £10 voucher for each survey you complete, once you are a signed up panel member
Note: As this is the sign up form for the panel, you will not receive a £10 voucher for completing this survey. You will receive a voucher for any later surveys you complete as a signed up panel member.

What do I have to do to be involved?
  • If you are a private renter in England, then we want you to hear from you! Doesn’t matter if you’ve been a tenant for 30 days or 30 years.
  • We will be running surveys every 3 months over the next 18 months.
  • You can do the survey online or over the phone.
  • Anything you say will be kept completely confidential and you can stop taking part at any point.

What's the survey used for?
  • We will use the feedback from this survey to build a panel of survey participants, collecting consent and demographic data.
  • We only ask for the information we need to tell your story or inform our research.
  • This information might include details about: your situation and how it affects you, your name and contact details - so we can keep in touch with you, and demographic information like your gender, ethnicity or disability.
  • This demographic information is collected in order to inform whether particular groups are experiencing different problems or are being unfairly affected. If you don't want to give us some personal details, you don't have to.
Who will see the survey?
  • All responses to the subsequent surveys are anonymous and confidential.
  • Any use of information from the survey in reports and other outputs will have identifying details removed or changed. So, no one will be able to tell who you are.
  • All the data we collect is stored securely on our internal systems, and will be stored for up to 5 years and will be deleted when it is no longer needed.
What if I want my data removed or don't want to take part anymore?
  • You can withdraw your permission for us to store your personal information at any time - known legally as withdrawing consent.
  • Tell us what personal information you don't want us to store and we'll delete it.

Please see our Privacy policy for further information. If you have any questions about how your information is collected or used, you can contact us at tenantsvoice@citizensadvice.org.uk.
