In general, volunteer interviews are around 30 minutes long and are always conducted within our office hours (9am-3pm). The exception is for Trustee applicants who will be interviewed by the CEO and at least one board member; interviews may take longer and be conducted out of office hours.
Volunteer inductions are around 1 hour long and also within our office hours.
Initial training includes shadowing three different groups (around five hours), our volunteer induction, and two training sessions of three hours each (these are held in the evening and occasionally on weekends).
We have a minimum commitment for volunteers of three hours per month, plus quarterly meetings (held in the evenings) that all volunteers must attend at least twice per year.
Trustee meetings are held on the second Thursday evening, every other month (6 meetings per year) plus the AGM which is held on the 2nd Saturday in November.
All interviews, training and shadowing is done online.
