The purpose of this survey is to explore careers-related, student-industry interactions across whole institutions, identify different types of employer engagement activity in Higher Education (HE) institutions, and provide insights into which ones are most effective.
In this research we define "employer engagement" as careers or employability-related interactions between students and industry at university, that can be organised by any part of the university (i.e. this is not limited to interactions organised by a careers service and could include School-based activity).
You can respond to this survey from a careers service or whole-institution perspective, and may choose to pass it on to other departments in your institution that might provide relevant data. We welcome multiple submissions from institutions.
This research is a partnership between the AGCAS Employer Engagement Task Group and the Institute of Student Employers. The outputs of this survey will inform a joint report that will be launched at AGCAS's annual conference in June 2020 and presented at the ISE conference.
We hope that this knowledge will be used to help both universities and employers develop more meaningful relationships, and to improve outcomes for students and graduates.
Any data collected through this survey will be treated in the strictest of confidence and stored securely by AGCAS. Research outputs will be anonymised so that individual institutions will not be identifiable. Participation in the project is voluntary and you may choose to withdraw at any point.
The survey will take around 20 minutes
to complete. You can leave the survey at any time and your responses will be saved within the system for you to return to later (you may need to check your junk folder to retrieve the link to return to the survey). The survey will close at midnight on Sunday 23 February 2020. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any queries about the survey or how AGCAS intends to use the findings.
Thank you in advance for supporting this vital research.
