Online event registration (families and carers) - investigating deaths during compulsory care and treatment

Registration page for online event for families / carers of a person with a mental health condition or learning disability

On 8 December 2021, the Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland published a consultation document setting out its proposals for a new system for investigating the deaths of people who, at the time of their death, were in compulsory treatment or care for a mental health condition or learning disability. The proposals also cover individuals whose period of compulsory treatment / care ended within 28 days of their death.

In parallel with the public consultation, Griesbach & Associates are arranging two online events to provide information about the proposals and to give people an opportunity to discuss them.

You can register here for the event on Tuesday, 18 January 2022, 7pm, which is intended for family members / carers of people with a mental health condition or learning disability.  This event is also intended for staff of family / carer support services. Note that we are particularly interested in engaging with family members / carers of individuals who have died whilst being treated under mental health legislation in Scotland, and places in this event will be prioritised for this group.

Further details of the event and a joining link will be sent to you in January.
