NHS Guildford and Waverley CCG is responsible for commissioning local health care, including that provided by general practice (GPs), known as primary care.
Over the past few years we have seen a significant increase in the number of patients registered at some Guildford GP practices, particularly those in the north of Guildford at Guildowns Group Practice and Woodbridge Hill Surgery. These Practices are also facing additional challenges such as, insufficient space to develop services, the inability to develop health and care options for patients and the lack of capacity to develop new workforce models within Primary Care.
These combined challenges mean that we need to address the pressing requirement for primary care expansion at a local level. This presents an opportunity for us to consider what is really needed to improve the health and wellbeing of those living in this part of the CCG, now and in the future as the population is projected to continue to grow and get increasingly older.
We want to hear your views about how we can develop the right kinds of buildings in the right locations for these practices. This short survey will take no longer than 15 minutes to complete and your responses will be kept anonymous. You are also invited to attend exhibitions and talk to members of the programme team.
We’re also hosting an interactive workshop on Tuesday 3rd September at the Emmanuel Church, Shepards Lane, Guildford, GU2 9SJ from 6.30pm-8.30pm. You can find more information about the event and register here.
