Getting the right services to the right children at the right time
Most children and young people in Warrington make good progress and reach their developmental and learning milestones as expected, but some need additional help so that they can do well at school, secure meaningful employment and be well prepared for their adult lives.
The Integrated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Strategy sets out our plans over the next three years for how all organisations will work together to improve the ways in which we identify and assess those with SEND; as well as the quality and availability of provision for families in Warrington.
We have identified eight main strategic priorities which we think we need to concentrate on to improve the lives of children and young people with SEND. These are to:
1. Work together
2. Strengthen coproduction arrangements
3. Identify children with additional needs at the earliest opportunity
4. Improve the experiences of assessment and support planning
5. Build capacity in education provision and improve inclusive practice
6. Develop the health offer
7. Improve access to Short Breaks
8. Improve transition planning across the key stages of children and young people’s lives.
