PURPOSE OF STUDY
You are being asked to take part in a consumer survey focusing on the preconceptions of fast fashion and garment quality.

Before you decide to participate in this survey, it is important that you understand why the research is being done and what it will involve. Please read the following information carefully and consult with the researcher if anything is not clear.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROPOSED RESEARCH
This survey is being conducted as a part of my PhD research which is funded by the Business of Fashion, Textile and Technology. The wider context of the research is an exploration of how regenerated protein fibres (RPFs) created from food industry waste streams might alleviate pressures on mass production within a circular economy.

With this survey I aim to:

·      Understand consumer opinions of textile quality and disposability
·      Understand consumption habits such as reasons for purchasing new clothing
·      Understand how consumers are most likely to dispose of their clothing

HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE RESEARCH
You are invited to take part in an online survey which will help shape the research by adding important primary data. I am interested to hear from participants of all ages, genders, and backgrounds and require a minimum of 100 respondents. Participants are encouraged to share this survey to help reach as large a demographic audience as possible.

The responses you give in the survey will be used towards the research and documented in my final thesis. The information gathered may be also in reports and/or journal articles at a later date, although no additional publications are being planned at his point.

STUDY PROCEDURES
This survey is in a tick box format and should take no longer than 10 mins to complete.

RISKS
There are no risks involved with participating in this survey. The questions are not of a sensitive nature and all participants will remain anonymous. You may decline to answer any or all questions and you may terminate your involvement at any time if you choose.

BENEFITS
This survey will inform and be of benefit to my PhD research through an understanding of consumption habits and consumer opinions surrounding quality in relation to fashion.

VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION
Your participation in this survey is voluntary. You are free to withdraw at any time, without giving a reason and without any detriment to you.

CONSENT
I have read and understand the conditions and consent to my answers being used as described. By continuing to the next page, I hereby consent to participate in this survey and to the results being used in the final written thesis by Marie Stenton at London College of Fashion.
