Competition to name the CRP for the Ipswich to Cambridge line

There’s a new Community Rail Partnership for the Ipswich to Cambridge railway line and we’re asking for your help to name it.

The line runs through the middle of East Anglia, joining the towns and cities of Ipswich, Needham Market, Stowmarket, Bury St. Edmunds, Newmarket and Cambridge, stopping at the villages of Elmswell, Thurston, Kennett, and Dullingham along the way. The Community Rail Partnership also covers Soham, on the Ely spur.

If you wish to be included in a prize draw to win a day’ trip for 4 people on the Ipswich to Cambridge Line, please leave your email address so we can contact you. Your details will be stored securely in line with GDPR and Data Protection Regulations, will not be shared with anyone else and will be deleted by the end of April 2026. The board of the Community Rail Partnership will choose the winning name taking everyone’s views and suggestions into account. The competition closes on 12th March 2026 and the board’s decision is final.

Terms and conditions

•    The prize is for one winner to receive a complimentary travel pass for four people.
•    Winner must provide travel date at least seven days in advance to allow for train passes to be posted and delivered.
•    The prize must be redeemed within 1 year.
•    No purchase is necessary to enter the competition.
•    All entrants must be aged 18 or over and have a UK postal address.
•    The prize is non transferable, non refundable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other alternative.
•    Travel, accommodation, and incidental costs are not included (except for the Greater Anglia travel passes) and are the responsibility of the winners.
•    Travel passes are valid on Greater Anglia services only, in Standard Class, for a return journey for four people on the Ipswich – Cambridge line in either direction. All four people must          travel together.
•    The promoters reserve the right to verify all entries and to refuse, disqualify or withdraw any entry that does not comply with these Terms (including bulk, automated, or third party              entries).
•    The promoters reserve the right to cancel, suspend or amend the Giveaway or these Terms at any time, without prior notice, where it becomes necessary to do so.
•    The decision of the Promoters regarding any aspect of the Giveaway is final and binding.
•    There may be planned engineering works on Greater Anglia routes. The winner is responsible for checking service alterations at greateranglia.co.uk before travelling. 
•    The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any costs, expenses, loss or damage suffered by the winner in connection with the prize except where caused by the Promoter’s                           negligence.
•    These Terms and any dispute arising from them shall be governed by English law, and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
