SUDBURY TOWN CENTRE - MARKET HILL AREA

1. Public Engagement on Design Concept

0%
This work is part of the Sudbury Vision programme and follows on from the January 2020 ‘What Next for Sudbury?’ public exhibition held at St.Peter’s Cultural Venue.

WSP consultants were commissioned by Babergh District Council, working in partnership with Suffolk County Council, to further design a high-level concept for what the future of Market Hill may look like.
Their work has incorporated feedback from the ‘What Next for Sudbury?’ exhibition and from partners in the Sudbury Vision Steering Group. Local businesses, retailers and stakeholders have already had an opportunity to influence the plans in the first phase of engagement earlier this autumn.

This work identifies how the Market Hill area could become a safe pedestrian-friendly space for shoppers, visitors and events. The design layout offers three distinct areas which could be used individually or combined for events and market days. The new-look Market Hill area could boost footfall through the town to support shops and businesses, improve connectivity and town centre experience and become a focal point for the town.

This feedback period will run from 5th November 2020 to Monday 14th December 2020 till 5pm inclusive.
Public information (via a window display only due to social distancing restrictions) will be available in the vicinity of the Market Hill area.
