How it works
When you add a new translation, AI handles the entire survey structure:
- All question text
- Answer choices for multiple choice, rating, and matrix questions
- Page titles and descriptive text
- Custom messages
If you update your survey later, you control how translations refresh:
- Safe Refresh: Only translates new or unchanged content. Leaves your manual edits alone.
- Force Refresh: Retranslates everything. Use this when you've restructured the survey and want a fresh translation.
You stay in control of when and how translations update.

If you're running feedback programmes across countries, language shouldn't be the thing that slows you down. Translation delays push back launch dates, cost money, and create bottlenecks.

- Open Survey Translation settings in your survey
- Click "Add New Translation(s)"
- Select your target languages
- Tick "Auto translate questions and answers"

What you need to know
AI Q&A Translation does not consume AI Credits. You can translate surveys without affecting your credit balance.
The feature supports all major languages and works with every question type in SmartSurvey.
